First Haircut

Who would have thought that silly little things like first hair cuts would be so monumental in my family's life? But it is! We took Anna to get her first official haircut on Friday night - I have botched her bangs a few times so it was time for a professional to smooth things over and they turned out great. I was pretty impressed that the little monkey would sit still - We did take her to a kid friendly place called Kids Hair and I totally recommend it. They gave her a toy to play and with and she got to watch Blues Clues while they did the chopping. They even collected all the hair and put it in an envelope for sentimental ol' me... We snapped up a few photos of the process! I swear people say it all the time but it is true - THEY GROW UP SO FAST! Enjoy!

Thankful

This morning as I was driving into work I was thinking about how much I have to be thankful and how much I need to thank my parents. Now whenI look at my own child, I think about all the sacrifices I am willing to make to ensure that she is protected and happy and healthy. It makes me remember my mother and the little things she did to make me so happy - I remember the first day of kindergarten and I needed those red pencils and we couldn't find any at the store the night before so she drove around that morning before the sun came up and then woke me with a pack of red pencils so I wouldn't feel different on the first day of school. I know how much my dad and step-mom sacrificed to send me to a Christian college of my choice and supported me those four years thru my many mistakes and all the while, loving me just the same. These revelations have a point. We live in such a fast pased world today that I think most days we all forget to stop and be thankful for all that we do have. As we approach this Thanksgiving holiday, I challenge all who read this blog to really be thankful for everything you have, not just the material things in the present but also the relationships of the past. I believe so much of who we become is developed when we are so small and we are molded by the teachings of so many around us. I encourage everyone to go back to those who have made a difference in your life and thank them because you never know when your time will run out and there is no time like the present to appreciate all that you have been given.

Ok - WHAT IS IN THE WATER?!?

That's right everyone... I am pregnant! I just can't keep it a secret and we just found out this morning so here you go! What are the chances... April - turns out I was already pregnant when you posted since I am just now 4 weeks pregnant... and those hives I broke out in are apparently a sign of pregnancy in some women. I sure hope I don't get them again though because they were awful. Well so my due date is July 12 (according to my calculations anyway) - I just can't believe I am pregnant! I am excited now but at first I was a little shocked and worried thinking "I have to do this again already?" but it is obviously God's will that I am carrying a baby right now... It will be so great that we will all have our kids be so close in age - hey maybe they can all go to Harding and be friends like we all are! Wouldn't that be awesome!

Ok well have a great day everyone! I love you all!

on the chopping block

Ok well I saw April's new do in her blog and I thought what the heck - I usually end up wearing my hair in a ponytail most days and it is just plain LAZY (or relaxed as April would say) - Anyway I went for it and chopped it all off... what have i got to lose right?!? So here it is all kinds of short!

Tomorrow we are going to visit our old neighbor's who just had a baby boy! I went to GAP today to try to find some outfits for him and man there aren't as many adorable clothes out there for the little guys! I still can't decide if I want baby #2 to be a boy or a girl - not like I have that much choice in it anyway - well actually my co-worker gave me this book about choosing the sex of your baby so we might try that at some point but I just can't decide if I would like a boy or girl... I hear boys are easier and hopefully no matter what the baby will be easier than Ms. Anna was when she was a newborn - she was just a frustrated little thing and oh dear she HATED THE CAR! That didn't really improve until a month ago -16 months old and she is finally quiet in the car - well that is mostly because she has a portable dvd player that plays FINDING NEMO 24/7. I have that movie memorized!

Ok well here is the new do ~ I am really starting to get addicted to this whole blogging thing!

Holy Cow!

Ok so this morning I get an email from Jenn Cole asking if I was jumping on the pregnant train and I was like, "who have you been talking too?" And she continues to relay that April and Sara are pregnant! Well Congrats Girls! And Sara - that was fast! I still remember labor pains but it is odd that you guys are pregnant again because Adam and I just decided we would start trying again or really we would stop "not trying"... so whatever happens, happens.

Anyway aside from all that, I think I am beginning to realize that blogging is the new wave of the future - it is just a great way to stay in touch with people plus you get photos so what's better than that?!?

Ok maybe this is too much information but has anyone had hives?!? I have them right now from who knows what and man are they driving me bonkers! I went to the doctor yesterday to be diagnosed and got a dissappointing - "they just have to run their course" and "it is probably something you ate" - well listen up all you great minds of the medical field... when I go to the doctor I don't want to hear what anyone can tell you, I want a MEDICAL answer! Is that too much to ask?! Ok I am sorry that I am frustrated - it is the hives talking!

Well last night was Halloween and Anna did ok... it was about 17 degrees so that didn't make it to much fun to walk around in the dark bitter cold... she scored a bit of candy which daddy and i will probably eat most of since she is still too small to devour a SNICKERS bar ~ Anyway here is my little peacock in all her glory! Take care everyone and let me know if you have any tips on dealing with these HIVES!
