Four days worth of celebrating...

Weeks of preparation led up to four very exhausting days... It all started on Thursday morning at about 6:15 am... I woke up my newly crowned FOUR year old with a whisper... "Happy Birthday Anna..." She slowly blinked her eyes while her brain processed the word she had been dreaming of all week... "Presents!" she said and hopped out of bed running past our bedroom and hollering for Adam and I to join her downstairs where the presents were wrapped and waiting.

Thursday was probably the least busy of all the days this weekend. I headed off to work and Adam carted the girls off to daycare. I picked up Anna for a lunch date at none other than the Golden Arches. After a day full of celebrating at daycare with cupcakes and sugar overload, we headed home to call Grandma and Papa. After opening more presents over the phone with Papa tuned in, we headed to Chuck E Cheese for dinner with daddy. Anna has a pretty intense fear of things dressed in costume. I do believe she'll grow out of it but she hid under the table at the thought that Chuck E himself would stop by our table to greet her. He didn't stop by thankfully and Anna had fun racking up the tickets that helped her bring home a plastic spider and two lollipops, one of which she gave willingly to her sister.

Friday was filled with a day of preparation... We made the run to Sam's Club for party food and stocked up on groceries at Super Wal-Mart. After a morning of go, go, go... the girls went down for naps while I cleaned. Anna wasn't so keen on napping - when does that stop by the way? Please don't say at the age of 4 because I am not ready!

Saturday morning started off in a hurry with Anna and I headed to Target to pick out her cake for her Sunday party... When we got home, we packed up and went to the Minnesota zoo for the first official FRIEND party. Anna was joined by four of her friends; Maura, Grace, Tori, and Emma - well she's the sister but they are friends.

The zoo party was nice. The weather was perfect and the kids were all well behaved! That was a present just for mommy!

After the party, the girls headed off to Grandma & Papa's for a sleepover. Adam and I headed to the mall for a short lived shopping trip. We then drove downtown for the concert of the Gaither Homecoming. This was Adam's Father's day present come early... He's a big fan of gospel music so this was an easy pick to please daddy!

Today was wrapped up with another birthday party at the park in Kasson surrounded by our cousins, who were also celebrating birthdays this month and next. The party was good and the kids were thrilled to enjoy another beautiful day outside!

And now I am enjoying a moment of peace and quiet while Daddy and the girls take an afternoon snooze...

I am debating cleaning a closet looking for buried treasure I can add to my garage sale this coming weekend but I am thinking the minute I get everything pulled out, everyone will be awake and dinner time will be here... what's a mom to do?
