Up, up and away...

Photobucket
I start my blog with a photo... this was my Christmas present from my parents this year... a dream of mine come true. I had wanted to go hot air ballooning since I was a child. Every year I would see balloons soar through the skies of St. Louis during the Forest Park Balloon Race and I would say that someday that would be me... Well fast forward 20+ years and on Monday, Dec. 29 I was soaring above the desert of Arizona. It was a great trip and an even better memory that I got to share with my dad who was along for the ride.

After our flight had lift off, we soared above the desert for a little over an hour taking in the sights of the early morning desert landscape. After our flight and exciting landing, it is quite a thrill to land- the basket nearly tips over!, we had a nice catered breakfast in the desert.

Here are some memories from our flight and others of our trip to Arizona for the Christmas holiday...

Photobucket Another example of Anna's bravery... she wrote this camel all by herself at the Phoenix Zoo! She said it was a very bumpy ride.
Photobucket Emma and Papa enjoying the music at San tan Flat, an outdoor country music place with fire pits, food and fun!

Oh my goodness - Emma's smile in that last picture - soooo cute!

The balloon ride looks/sounds like soooo much fun! I guess you enjoyed a warm Christmas as well. I hear y'all are having some crazy cold weather right now, though. Phew!
