It's a bird... It's a plane... NO! It's a water spout!
Have you ever seen one? Well imagine a tornado on water... it was pretty intense. I was sitting on the beach with the girls - ALONE - Adam had gone back to the house to collect Grandma and sure enough while he was gone, this water spout phenomenon occurred right there on the beaches of South Haven, MI (Lake Michigan folks - no need to grab a map.)
Other than the exciting waterspout experience, the weekend at the Blueberry Festival consisted of Emma competing in a HUGGIES race entitled the "Happy Baby Race." The rules require all participants to be crawlers and since Emma hasn't taken a step yet - she was a definite shoe-in! I was hoping she would take the GOLD but half way through the race, she was distracted by a bystander who yelled her name. Poor girl lost her focus and then just stared at the person who hollered at her... Regardless of missing out on the HUGGIES prize, we got an incredible bag full of little baby gifts, snacks, bibs and even some grown up stuff too - all that just for registering for the race! I must say the parents were more entertaining that the tikes themselves. One mom sat at the end of the finish line with a blackberry and laptop and tried to get her little guy to crawl to it - he did and won a place in the finals... Well here's the pics of my sweetie crawling it up...
And she's off...
the moment of distraction...
here are some other highlights of the weekend including time at the beach, hanging out with "aunt jenn" and family... and more!
Can you count the many "roles" of Emma?

Your girls are BEAUTIFUL!! Every time I see I photo of them I want so badly to see them in person and just our rug rats play together.
The Blueberry Festival sounds like my kind of fun, and you got to see Aunt Jenn I am so jealous!
And I love Emmas pig tails. I cut Avas hair (doing a horrible job myself) and now it's soo short to pull into pig tails. The crawl race sounds too fun... I Love it!
Aunt Jenn, YAY! Wow, that looks like quite the trip. Emma's cute and that water thing looks TERRIFYING! Did the girls travel well?
I agree with April - they are sooo beautiful!! Those were sweet pictures and I love the little bikini! So cute!
Was it Aunt Jenn that distracted her? LOL It was so good to see Jenn's face! I am glad you all got to see each other. It feels like forever since I have seen any of you girls!
And seriously - I would have freaked out at the water spout!!
